Pre-Construction Services
Whenever possible we prefer to be involved in a projects pre-construction phase. By getting involved in the pre-construction phase of a project we can help the owner and the design team to identify possible issues and goals. This allows us to assist the owner from project conception to completion in achieving their desired design and budget goals. Our typical services include:
  • The Ultimate Goal - Before design can begin we must determine what the owner is ultimately looking for in their building and establish a budget.
  • Project Feasibility - Once the client's goals and budget have been established we will survey the site and prepare a preliminary budget to determine if their goals are feasible.
  • Construction Team - We will give the owner recommendations for a design team based on our long standing relationships with local architectural and engineering firms.
  • Scheduling - Once a design team has been selected we will develop a CPM schedule with basic project milestones to ensure that the project is completed on time.
  • Value Engineering - As the design of the project progresses we will review the documents and offer suggestions to help reduce the cost of the project.
  • Bidding - After the design is complete we will release the documents to pre-qualified subcontractors for pricing and develop a final guaranteed maximum price for the project.

General Contracting
We provide a full range of general contracting services from project planning and design through project completion and closeout. Our highly skilled project management team understands the needs of every client, architect and subcontractor and implements best practices to ensure project success. Along with our experienced project management team our site superintendents are all highly experienced individuals who self-perform the major trades of work for each project. This combination allows for us to complete each project on time, every time, with complete owner satisfaction.

Construction Management
Over the years, our client base had continual requests for design-build and construction management services. In order to meet the needs of the clients in an ever changing industry, Porter Construction Management, Inc. was formed in 1994. This endeavor offered construction management and design-build services in all aspects of construction ranging from the concept stage to finished projects. Eventually, the realization came that sub-trades could be more effectively managed by bringing them in-house. Subsidiary companies were formed to perform trades such as mill work, glass, electrical and equipment rentals in order to offer an even higher level of customer service and quality control.

Bob Porter Company successfully utilizes the design-build construction method to work collaboratively with architects and engineers which ultimately saves the owner construction costs, expedites construction schedules and provides value-based feedback.
